It’s not Christmas without a tree! Putting up the tree is one of the first things our Dallas Christmas designers like to do to get the decorating started! The tree instantly makes any home or business look and feel very festive! Our designers always love to switch up the design and color schemes with clients. Some enjoy a classic green Christmas tree, while others love the flocked tree design. Some will always choose flocked trees because their houses are mostly very neutral and the flocked tree just pairs so well with their existing decor. The classic flocked tree also gives off major winter wonderland vibes with the look of frosted snow covering the tree. Today, our Christmas designers want to share with you our favorite color palettes used to decorate a flocked Christmas tree and why we love them. A classic green tree is a neutral base for most ornaments. Whites, silver, gold, platinum- you name it and it will go. But with a flocked tree, our Dallas Christmas designers go with a more festive look that will show up better! We love adding pops of copper, royal blue, plum, turquoise, slate grey, bright gold and even traditional red & green. See below for some of our favorite examples from this past season!
METALLIC GOLDS WITH HINTS OF SILVER AND GREY
Metallic ornaments and decorations are very popular for flocked trees: they don’t stand out that much but gently highlight the look of the tree. Metallic decor is a very hot trend in general, so let’s make your tree a fashionable one! Silver, gold and copper in matte, glitter and glossy finishes are amazing for a flocked tree and our Dallas designers love using all shades at the same time. Mixing metallic ornaments with white ones is also a great idea for a more neutral look. And over-sized metallic ornaments are a modern and chic element, as well.
COPPER
Copper is very elegant and refined. Our designers love using glossy and matte finish, copper and white ornaments, copper and brown ornaments or a metallic range of ornaments with copper included. They may be modern or vintage, of any shape imaginable and you may use them for decorating your tree, mantel or making hangings and clusters of them to decorate the house. Copper ornaments look amazing both on traditional green and flocked trees, but our favorite is the contrast between crispy white flocked trees and the soft copper ornamentation.
TRADITIONAL RED ELEMENTS WITH WHITE AND GREEN
You can’t go wrong with the tradition Christmas color palette. Plaid ribbon will make the flocked tree pop, and even burlap will give a rustic feel to the modern tree. All-white or pearl ornaments look very refined and chic, so our designers love using this look as well! A red and white Christmas tree decor is a bold decision, but always looks rather traditional.
ROYAL BLUE
Blue and white aren’t necessarily a traditional color combination for your Christmas decor, but this is always a great way to stand out. Blue and white are symbolic for winter, and they remind us all of frozen lakes and snow. There are a lot of shades of blue: Tiffany, royal, navy, serenity and many others and adding silver will give your combination a nice sparkle.
PLUM
We love mixing a bit of modern with earthy and natural elements. And while purple may not be the first color you think of when you think of Christmas, it is always so beautiful and different from any other design, especially with the warm plum hue.
